Created and sponsored by the Melvin N. and Eunice A. Miller Foundation, New Linkages is a Jewish identity project for Jewish students at Bryn Mawr, Haverford, and Swarthmore Colleges that requires 16 hours of internship placement at a Jewish organization and 3 Sunday study sessions. Participating students, known as Miller Fellows, are carefully selected and matched with mentors in the Greater Philadelphia professional Jewish community. The students develop projects that are responsive to their own professional, educational, or social action interests. Students also gather at a dinner to participate in three informal Jewish study sessions led by noted scholars. The goal of the study sessions is to understand the link between Jewish values and community life and personal choices. Students chosen as New Linkage Miller Fellows will receive a stipend of $200 upon completion of the program.
